Scotrun RV Resort (TT) – Scotrun PA

RATING: ♦♦♦
  • Length of stay: 5 days
  • Cost per night: $0.00
  • Discount: Thousand Trails
  • Hook ups: 30 amp electric, water, and no sewer. Free Cable TV.
  • Site number/quality: #E-57. Gravel and dirt pad. Slightly unlevel, not very large. Heavily shaded.
  • Park quality: Convenient location for visitors to the Poconos. The park itself is up a fairly steep set of hills, and is a bit on the older side. Most of the sites are too small for a big rig of 40′ plus. Also many of the full hookup sites are taken by annual and seasonal campers, which is a common issue with TT parks. Many of them are older units in poor condition. We were only able to get a site without sewer. However, the park has a pump out service for $5.00. On the plus side, the staff is pleasant and helpful. The manager seems to be trying to make improvements.
  • Access: Easy access off I-80 along PA-611.
  • Connectivity: Verizon OK Cricket/AT&T OK with antenna, T-Mobile OK.
  • Return yes/no?: Yes. The park is not the best, but the area is nice.
  • Notes: The park is close to Big Pocono State Park. This is the highest elevation the entire Pocono Mountains and has spectacular views. At the upper elevations, the fall colors were beautiful. The park is also near the Delaware Water Gap, where the Delaware River cuts through a large ridge of the Appalachian Mountains. We took an enjoyable day trip to both locations.
