Timberlake Resort (RPI) – Mears MI

RATING: ♦♦
  • Length of stay: 7 days
  • Cost of stay: $105.00
  • Discount: RPI (not preferred)
  • Hook ups: Electric 30amp and water, with dump
  • Site number/quality: #101, sandy, woodsy, down low at the end of the road, with odd unfriendly neighbors that appeared to be annuals.
  • Park quality: Large park with a lot of annuals or permanent residents who were not welcoming. Lots of shade, roads were paved so bike riding was ok. Across the street from Lake Michigan, but not much of a beach.
  • Access: Twisty back roads, not too bad
  • Connectivity: Not good, even using park wifi. We did not have Verizon, only Cricket AT&T and T-Mobile.
  • Return yes/no?: Maybe. We loved the area, but would try to find another park, possibly a state park, if we’re back that way again.
  • Notes: Visited the charming town of Pentwater and went the beach at Mears State Park, which is just a few blocks from downtown. Also visited Ludington to see the car, truck, and RV ferry, the SS Badger, that crosses Lake Michigan from Manitowoc WI and is actually part of U.S. Hwy 10.
