Desert Willow RV Park (PA) – Van Horn TX

RATING: ♦♦
  • Length of stay: 1 day
  • Cost per night: $14/night
  • Discount: Passport America 50%
  • Hook ups: 50 amp electric, water, and sewer. Also has cable TV.
  • Site number/quality: #9. Level, gravel pad. Bare bones parking lot type sites.
  • Park Quality: This campground is meant for staying overnight. It doesn’t pretend to be anything else. It provides just what travelers need when passing through West Texas – a safe and affordable place to park with full hookups. It’s a popular spot with just 46 sites. When we arrived around 2:00 pm, there were only about a half-dozen rigs checked in. We woke up the next morning to find the park nearly full.
  • Access: The campground is just off the US-90 exit from I-10 in the small town of Van Horn. It’s exactly halfway between San Antonio and El Paso, which are each 120 miles away. The town itself is not much, but it makes a good stopping point when driving on I-10. There’s also a Pilot and a Love’s truck stop in town, which is another good reason to stop.
  • Connectivity: Verizon OK, AT&T OK, and T-Mobile OK.
  • Return yes/no?: Yes, if back in the area.
  • Website: None
