La Paz RV Park – Quartzsite AZ

RATING: ♦♦
  • Dates: Jan 1, 2019 – Jan 31, 2019
  • Length of stay: 30 days
  • Cost per night: $12.50/night
  • Discount: Monthly rate
  • Hookups: 30/50 amp electric, sewer, and water.
  • Site number/quality: #34. Flat, gravel pad with no distinct sitting area. However, sites are fairly roomy.
  • Park Quality: This is an old small private RV park. Attracts some regular seasonal visitors. But pretty bare bones.
  • Access: The campground is off US-95, five miles south of I-10 and Quartzsite.
  • Connectivity: AT&T and T-Mobile were both weak.
  • Return yes/no?: There are other parks in the area that we would try first, if/when we come back. There is also a lot of BLM land in Quartzsite for boondocking.
  • Notes: Low voltage prevented our surge protector from connecting to the motorhome. So plugged into the 15 amp service to power the converter and ran most things off the DC circuits. Also set up our portable solar panel to charge the lithium batteries. Worked pretty well all in all, and gave us a better idea of what longer term boondocking would feel like.
