Evergreen Coho RV Park (SKP) – Chimacum WA

RATING: ♦♦♦♦
  • Dates: Jul 3, 2019 – Jul 10,2019
  • Length of stay: 7 nights.
  • Cost per night: $27.75 ($23.78 with discount).
  • Discount: 7th night free with first time visitor discount. Must be Escapee member.
  • Hookups: 50 amps, water, and sewer.
  • Site number/quality: #5. Nice, flat, gravel pad.
  • Park Quality: This is our 7th SKP park. They are always pleasant places to stay. We’ve camped at parks in Benson AZ and Casa Grande AZ, and visited ones in Yuma AZ, Aguanga CA, Wauchula FL, and Hondo TX. This one is especially nice. Roomy, clean, and friendly.
  • Access: 1/4 miles off WA-19 in small town of Chimacum located on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. Lots to do and see in the area.
  • Connectivity: Verizon-OK, AT&T-strong, and T-Mobile-OK.
  • Return yes/no?: Yes, though it is at the northern tip of the Olympic Peninsula and not on the way to much of anywhere farther north, not even Canada, except by ferry.
  • Notes: We took the ferry from Bainbridge Island to Seattle to visit Denny, Laura, and Kyle. We also enjoyed the nearby towns of Port Townsend and Sequim. Port Townsend is known for its many Victorian buildings and the surprising Fort Worden State Park. Sequim is known for its beautiful lavender farms, and also is the area’s main shopping location. We tried to go up to Olympic National Park. But the weather was bad, the parking was impossible, and the lines were long. So we turned back. Maybe next time.
