Desert Trails RV Park – El Centro CA

RATING: ♦♦♦
  • Dates: Mar 6, 2019 – Mar 9, 2019
  • Length of stay: 3 nights
  • Cost per night: $20
  • Discount: None
  • Hookups: None
  • Site number/quality: This is the second time we have stayed here. We like this park because it offers dry camping in a large gravel lot, in an area where parks are normally full in the winter.
  • Park Quality: This is a nice park that caters to golfing snowbirds. Their motto is “Where the Sun Spends the Winter.” The RV sites and park models surround a well maintained golf course and pond.
  • Access: The campground is next to I-8 at the 4th St exit in El Centro.
  • Connectivity: AT&T is OK. T-Mobile is weak.
  • Return yes/no?: This is our second visit.
  • Notes: This is a convenient park to stay at on our return from Mexico since it is only a few mile from the border crossing at Mexicali. As before, we were able to use the dump and fill station as well as to fill up with reasonably priced bulk propane. We were joined the first night by our Mexican Connection travel group companions, Lynn and Terri. We stayed two more nights because we needed time to find and buy a vehicle to replace the one we lost in Baja. We were fortunate to find a clean 2014 Honda CR-V with only 21,000 miles, and it is towable.
